Who we are
This website is run by Chester Tuning Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17316784, registered office: 24 Castle Street, Chester CH1 2DS). We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this site. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected] or on 07523 163550.
What we collect and why
We only collect what we need to respond to you and do the work you ask for:
- Quote form: your name, phone number, vehicle details, registration and location, plus anything you write in your message. We use this to reply to your enquiry and give you an accurate quote. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- Phone, WhatsApp, email and social media: if you contact us directly we hold the details you give us so we can deal with your enquiry and arrange bookings. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to customers.
- Job and payment records: when we carry out work we keep records of the vehicle, the work done and invoicing, because we need them to honour our commitments to you and to meet tax and accounting law.
- Vehicle lookup tool: if you use the Check Your Car tool, the registration you enter is processed by our lookup provider (Bensky) to show tuning data for that vehicle. We do not store what you type into the tool.
- Technical data: our website is protected by Cloudflare, including the anti-spam check on the quote form. Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses to keep the site secure.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information and we do not use it for marketing lists. It is only shared with the services that run this website: our web agency (Websodigital, who build and host the site), the email service that delivers your enquiry to our inbox, and Cloudflare, which protects the site. The site is hosted on servers in the EU. All of these act on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Records of completed work and invoices are kept for six years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, delete it, or limit how we use it, and you can object to us using it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our cookie notice for the short list of what is used and why.
